A little
bit Willy and Waylon, and the “black magic” of Santana’s guitar, only
begin to describe the sound of Harry Burks, vocalist and guitarist.
He has
performed throughout the USA, Caribbean, Japan, and Europe.
For much
of the 1990’s he was Burk in the acclaimed Parks and Burk Duo with
Chris Parks (of the Christy Minstrils), performing in the Midwest,
Southwest, and in the top hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
Listen to
“Fingertip Friends”, an original composition written with John Mooy
which was dedicated to the 58,000 men and women who lost their lives
in the Vietnam War. You’ll realize why Harry was asked to perform
it live in our nations’ capitol as part of the 1993 Memorial, a
nationally televised event. Harry has received other local and
national recognition for his music.
Harry
Burks, a New Mexico native, currently resides in Houston, Texas,
where he is in continuous demand to perform in clubs, for private
parties, in churches and concerts.
Harry’s
special gift with people, endearing him to young and old, was the
inspiration for this CD, a selection of songs requested by his
fans. Listen … you’ll hear strains of Willy, Stills, Dillon, and,
Seger. Listen again…enjoy the unique, mellow voice and melodious
guitar of Harry Burks.
